Torre del Mar is a coastal town in the region of La Axarquia in the province of Malaga.

 

It is some 25 minutes drive east of Malaga airport. Serviced by a motorway and excellent roads; which place it in a unique position to visit the major cities of Seville, Cordoba and Granada etc. Also the Andalucian interior from the “white “ villages of the Axarquia to the ski slopes of the Sierra Nevada. This region varies from fertile plains and almond groves to the mountain of La Maroma 2065 meters in height, with its forested foothills. Ideal for walking, riding, painting, twitching etc,as well as enjoying the wide beaches and oustanding seafront of the town.

 

Torre del Mar is very Spanish, full of restaurants offering a variety of internacional cuisine and with beach bars which serve typical Spanish tapas and fish dishes.

Just 5 minutes drive inland is the sister town of Vélez-Málaga which is the capital of La Axarquia region. These two towns and the shopping complex of “ El Ingenio” have a wealth of shops for the keen shopper and the bargain hunter.
